The stars came out en masse for the tenth annual FedEx/St.Jude Angels & Stars Gala on Saturday, May 19. Actress/supermodel Daisy Fuentes, and Latin power-couple, Grammy Award-winning singer and songwriter Juanes and TV host/actress Karen Martinez, served as the celebrity chairs and were on-hand to mingle with guests at the JW Marriott Marquis in downtown Miami. More than 800 guests enjoyed a Grey Goose cocktail reception, seated dinner and live performances by gorgeous Spanish, Grammy Award-winner, David Bisbal and Vicente Garcia.

Grammy Award-winning singer and songwriter Juan Luis Guerra got a standing ovation when he was presented with the Al-Rashid Hope Award for his tireless commitment to providing resources for needy children in Dominican Republic and Latina America, particularly in the areas of health, sports and education.

“I am honored to receive this award during such a special year like the 50th anniversary celebration of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital,” said Guerra. “While I am passionate about music, I care even more about providing children with the best care, so they can live happy, healthy lives.”

Daisy Fuentes, who doesn’t seem to age, was also honored for being one of the first celebrities to support the gala. Award presenters included Latin personalities Giselle Blondet, Julian Gil, Blanca Soto, Pamela Silva Conde, and Raul Gonzalez of Univision. Miami’s own celebrity DJ Irie, spun at the after-party, keeping the crowd dancing late into the night.

The evening was a great success, with this year marking the 50th anniversary

of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.® The Gala supports the cutting-edge research and treatment programs at St. Jude, which is working to find cures for childhood cancer, pediatric AIDS, genetic disorders and other catastrophic diseases of childhood. Marysol Patton and Philippe Pautesta-Herder

On Thursday, May 17, public relations and events firm The Patton Group, celebrated 10 years of producing high-end events at its exclusive anniversary party at the gorgeous Villa Mayfair Restaurant and Lounge located in the heart of Coconut Grove. Those in attendance enjoyed towers of delectable pink macaroons, scrumptious seafood, a specialty cocktail created especially for the evening, the “Patton Group Poison” and Lanson Rose Champagne. Many guests dodged the cameras, which were busy filming an episode of Real Housewives of Miami, for the upcoming season. Marysol Patton, Lea Black, Adriana De Moura, Lisa Hochstein, Karent Sierra, Ana Quincoces, Elaine Lancaster, Alexia Echevarria, Joanna Krupa, and Marta Krupa mingled with guests in between shoots. Other notable guests included: Belkys Nerey, Willard Shepard, Mario Vergel, and Martin Gastelou.
